Foot reflexology is a therapeutic practice based on the idea that specific points on the feet correspond to different organs, glands, and systems of the body. By applying gentle pressure to these reflex points, a foot reflexologist stimulates energy flow, supports the body’s natural healing processes, and helps restore balance. This non-invasive treatment is deeply relaxing and may help reduce stress, improve circulation, relieve tension, and support overall well-being.

Foot reflexology is often used to support issues such as digestive discomfort, hormonal imbalance, headaches, and sleep disturbances. While it does not diagnose or cure medical conditions, it works holistically to encourage harmony within the body. Each session is tailored to the individual, making it a calming and restorative experience.

Benefits

Reflexology offers a range of benefits for both physical and emotional well-being. By stimulating specific reflex points on the feet, it promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and encourages the body’s natural healing processes.

Reflexology may help improve circulation, boost energy levels, support better sleep, and relieve tension or pain, including headaches and muscle aches. It can also aid in balancing hormones and supporting the digestive system.

Many people find it helpful for managing anxiety and enhancing overall mood. As a gentle, non-invasive therapy, reflexology works holistically to restore balance, leaving you feeling refreshed, grounded, and more in tune with your body.

What to expect

In a reflexology session, you can expect a calm and relaxing experience focused on your feet. At the start, your reflexologist will discuss your health history, lifestyle, and any concerns or areas you'd like to focus on. You’ll remain fully clothed except for your shoes and socks, and you'll recline or lie back comfortably on a treatment couch or chair.

The reflexologist will gently cleanse your feet and begin by warming them up with light massage techniques. They’ll then apply pressure to specific reflex points on your feet, which correspond to organs and systems in your body. You may feel slight tenderness in some areas, but overall the treatment is soothing and deeply relaxing.

Sessions typically last between 45 to 60 minutes. Afterward, you might feel calm, refreshed, or even sleepy as your body begins to rebalance.

Aftercare

At the end of your treatment, we can if you wish talk about some ideas that can help support you once you have left the treatment room.   This can include showing you some reflex points that can be worked on in between treatments.

Other lifestyle and/or nutrition advice will also be provided on an individual basis.  Please also see the aftercare page.
